I can shut it off and restart it and it starts fine and doesn't want to stall. I'll let off to shift and drive away and it wants to stall or does stall. I'll try again and it will do the same thing, then I try again and I can get it to start, if I give it some gas just after it turns over, and it will stay running as long as I keep a little foot feed in it. I will get in the car in the morning and go to start it, It cranks fine, acts like it will start, then not start. Looked for any intake air leaks around the intake manifold, none found. Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Cables, Ignition Coil Pack, Alternator-Had Diode pack go bad., Throttle Position Sensor, Idle Air Valve, Both O2 Sensors, Replaced vacuum lines that even looked close to being bad, Cleaned Mass Airflow Sensor. Here Is what I have changed, and or done. I have read Several hundred issues on the Net about this type of problem with some Fords, but Nobody Ever Says How They Fixed The Problem! To date in the last four (4) months I have gone through the Car changing one thing after another that has been suggested that is the problem, to date, nothing has changed.

What I thought to be a CNG Compuvalve Problem happens on Both fuels so before anybody wants to say it's a Fuel system related problem, forget that. The Check Engine Light never comes on, and there are never and DTC in memory. My 2000 Contour ( Bi-Fuel CNG/Gasoline ) is having problems Starting and Running on the First Start when the car is cold, Not the Outside Temp, although the problem is worse when it is Cold outside. Come to find out the computer fires the coil like the old distributors had the rotor to turn. So he figured it was the ignition coil.įor those savy on the old engines the ignition coil is what WE used to call the distributor. Cylinder 3 is sparking MAYBE every minute, minute and a half. So we went and connect a spark detector or what ever its called (a thing that is attached to ground and then plugged into the spark plug wire where you can see the spark) 1,2, and 4 are sparking like there is no tomorrow. With a cheap diagnostic computer we can see cylinder 3 is having issues. We replaced the plugs and the car was still running rough. He pulls out the spark plugs and they were almost disintegrated. We baby the car to work and then had a mechanic look at it. The car has, at this time, almost no power. Check engine light comes on and intermittently starts to flash. "you can't know everything but what you don't know, know where to look or who does know"Ĭar was driving just fine and all of the sudden it starts running rough. My budy working on the car is ASE certified.
